Condé Nast Traveler (CNT) released a list of the 30 best islands in the world and the top 3 spots were claimed by the Philippines. This prestigious list is based on the 2017 CNT Readers’ Choice Awards survey.
TOP 1: Boracay Island
For a second year running, this “itty-bitty island that is as close to a tropical idyll” has earned the top spot. CNT described Boracay as a destination with gentle coastlines, transportative sunsets, and a thriving nightlife scene.
24Seven pro tip: If you wish to enjoy the crystal blue waters and powdery white sand of this island, book a room in one of the top resorts in Boracay. Those who are visiting with their loved ones, Sea Wind Boracay is one of the best hotels in Boracay for family.
TOP 2: Cebu and Visayan Islands
CNT readers recognized Cebu for its mainland beaches as well as across many of the surrounding islands. In the words of CNT, this tropical hideaway is “not as wild as Phuket, but more personal.” Camotes Islands, which is just two hours east of Cebu, was mentioned as one of the best destinations in the province.
24Seven pro tip: After exploring the wonders of Cebu, you can also head to Bohol (famous for its Chocolate Hills). Some of the best places to stay in Bohol is just a short drive away from the city center. Check out Amarela Resort or Bohol Beach Club, two of the best resorts in Panglao.
TOP 3: Palawan
Considered as the last ecological frontier of the Philippines, Palawan is home to the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River, one of the newly crowned seven natural wonders of the world. This island offers some of the best diving and snorkeling sites in the country.
24Seven pro tip: Guided boat tours in the Subterranean River are available in some, if not all, of the best resorts in Puerto Princesa, Palawan. Check out Daluyon Beach and Mountain Resort or Dos Palmas Island Resort for more information.
