7 Hipster Places in Kuala Lumpur Perfect for Instagram

With the popularity of aesthetic dining, it seems almost all of the hole-in-the-wall restaurants and cafes are becoming the top destination of hipsters, grammers, and foodists. They are for a place that provides the perfect food with a unique design and vibe to boot.

It would be hard to miss the two giant cycles that are hanging vertically in front of Brewmen in Solaris Mont Kiara. They’re one of the most inventive when it comes to artisan coffee, serving drinks like Reverse Coffee, Queen Bee, Espresso Bomb, and Red Latte.

Project B

Here’s a one-of-a-kind place in Malaysia, because it is literally run by teenagers. Project B is an initiative of Berjaya Care Foundations and the BIG group to support the programs of Dignity for Children’s Foundation.

Merchant’s Lane

Considered to be one of the most beautiful cafes in Kuala Lumpur, you can find Merchant’s Lane tucked in Petaling Street. Their outdoor section is the perfect place to relax in, especially since Petaling Street is known to be too crowded sometimes.

If you’d like to be one with nature in the middle of the bustling city of Kuala Lumpur, Three Little Birds is the place to be. Their outdoor patio is comes with entwining vines and relaxing hues of green leaves. It is one of many line spin-offs of Artisan Roast.

The Grumpy Cyclists

While The Grumpy Cyclists is a biker-friendly hub, they really do not live up to the “Grumpy” part of their name. They have the friendliest and most cheerful staff you can expect from a cafe. Other than coffees and cakes, they have a shower for bikers to use whenever they need to.

LOKL Coffee Co.

LOKL (a play of the word “local”) can be found at Jalan Tun H.S. Lee, right at the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Owned by actress Cheryl Samad, it has chic vintage decor that helps give the cafe a very comfortable vibe, it also has a wall filled with pictures of the local scene in Malaysia.

Sugar Rush

Their motto, “Making the world a better place…one ganache-topped, cream-filled, almond-coated, sugar-dusted butter cake at a time” isn’t just some advertising gimmick. For the people who have tried their cake, Sugar Rush certainly made their world a better place.

Go on and get those cameras and filters ready and head on over to Kuala Lumpur!
