A Night at The Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences, from a Traveling Businessman

Booking business hotels in Makati has become something of a monthly habit for me. Given that I usually head there to meet with our associates.

This time, I was traveling with our accountant to give our monthly report, and we needed a place close to the meeting area.

Fortunately, a friend of mine was able to suggest a hotel that was relatively close: The Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences. This particular hotel had spacious rooms even for the basic one, which was fitting because I had a co-worker with me this time.

I wondered why a hotel would be named after an artist, but that became clear once I entered: paintings displayed in their 3rd floor art gallery, rooms with various artworks. I got intrigued at looking at the artworks that for a moment, I even forgot we had a meeting that night.

After a while, my colleague and I got settled down in our room. At 45sqm, the Malaga Studio room with twin beds was more comfortable and spacious than I expected for a basic suite.

The room had a desk, a kitchenette with an electric stove, and even complimentary coffee. It was a good thing that the room had enough space since we were both rehearsing our parts for the presentation later that evening. Once that was done, we both headed out and met with our managers at a place close to the hotel.

A few hours later, we even invited some of our colleagues to have dinner with us at the hotel’s Pablo Bistro restaurant. After all, some of them were foreigners and were curious about the local food.

It was a job well done all in all. With the spare time I had before going to bed, I even managed to browse some of the artworks in the hotel’s 3rd floor curated by Altro Monde Arte Contemporanea featuring local and foreign talents.

This was definitely one of the most comfortable hotels I’ve stayed in. The price was reasonable as well, at PHP 7,477 for the room. It’s a place I’d like to reserve the next time I find myself in Manila for another business trip.
