Coinciding with the weeklong celebration of Boracay’s rehabilitation, Department of Tourism launched their newest campaign “More Fun Forever” at Sea Wind Boracay on April 29, 2019.
The new campaign promises to promote a culture of sustainable Philippine tourism and encourage tourists and stakeholders to do their part in preserving our travel destinations. To attain this, DOT is tapping businesses, local government units, and communities through various initiatives such as partnerships and awareness on how to better protect the island.
The campaign is modeled after the sustainable tourism framework of Boracay’s successful 6-month rehabilitation program last year. Aside from pursuing responsible tourism and environmental compliance by businesses, “More Fun Forever” educates the people on how to become better stewards of the island’s splendid beauty and diverse biodiversity.
The positive effect of the rehabilitation done in Boracay is unmistakable if you take notice of the ever-growing number of discipline zones throughout the island. Despite the strict implementation of these zones, the Task Force Boracay guarantees the tourists that they can still enjoy the street parties in the island. The idea here is that the events have been redesigned to facilitate the campaign for the environment. People can have fun while the island can still be clean.
A video message was presented during the launch in which Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat shared, “Our development goals become attainable if we weave a culture of sustainable tourism together.” She encourages everyone to participate in these efforts of conserving our existing tourist sites and make sure that these will be enjoyed by the future generations.
DOT’s “More Fun Forever” campaign was launched at Sea Wind Boracay, beachfront resort in Station 1. For accommodations, book direct online at www.seawindboracay.ph.
