Tagaytay has always been one of my favorite weekend getaways, that’s why budget hotels like One Tagaytay Place are frequent places to visit.
While this Tagaytay accommodation doesn’t have the usual view of the Taal Lake, its rooms start at PHP 6,800 for a Deluxe Double Room. This can even go as low as 50% off depending on the ongoing promo.
For this particular trip, I was on business to visit the Precioza Farm in the nearby Alfonso, Cavite. Knowing that the inspection would take a whole day, I decided to book a room in the hotel to retire in afterwards.
Upon check-in, I dropped my bags off at the room and rested for awhile. The Deluxe Double Room was reasonably comfortable and it gave me a few minutes for a breather before it was time for me to head out to the farm.
The room had Wi-Fi access, a hot-and-cold-shower, and good air conditioning enough for a good night sleep.
Inspecting the Precioza Farm in Alfonso was not as tedious as expected. The crops were in good health and the facility itself was well-maintained despite the fact that some development was still ongoing. I even managed to feed the goats in the livestock area while I was at it.
After that whole-day trip, I was understandably exhausted and was looking forward to relaxing at the hotel.
First thing I liked was the shower’s hot setting. It was enough to help me relax and wash off the sweat after all that walking around.
Second thing was the beds. The mattresses were soft enough that I didn’t experience any back pain when I lay down after I returned.
Dinner that evening was at the hotel’s restaurant, The Amacena. I had the Beef Pares Croquets and the Shortrib Caldereta, one of the two interesting choices on the menu. The resto was known for putting a different spin on traditional Filipino dishes, and in this regard, they delivered well on that promise.
The Beef Pares had a slightly crunchy outer shell with a chewy beef center, while the Kaldereta’s marinade went well with the accompanying mashed potatoes.
With that done, I decided to retire for the night. Have to say, it the most peaceful sleep I had all week.
I left the hotel the next day, to head back for Manila, but not before stopping by at Breakfast at Antonio’s and buying a bottle of their famous Curry Ketchup and taking a shot of the Taal Lake.
It was, to summarize, a most productive weekend trip that was made more comfortable thanks to my stay at One Tagaytay Place Hotel Suites. It’s an accommodation I’d recommend for those looking for a budget Tagaytay getaway if they’re staying overnight.
