Philippines’ Rock Icon Bamboo Set to Headline Las Casas’ Independence Day Festivities

Bataan, Philippines — There’s no better place to celebrate the upcoming Independence Day than at Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar. Francisco ‘Bamboo’ Mañalac rose to fame in the early 90’s when he fronted seminal OPM band Rivermaya. After leaving the band for the U.S, he returned to the Philippines in the mid-2000s to form super rock group, Bamboo, with ex-Rivermaya bandmate Nathan Azarcon, Ira Cruz, and Vic Mercado. Together, they released three platinum-selling albums which spawned anthems like ‘Noypi,’ ‘Hallelujah,’ anProbinsyana’The group disbanded in 2011 and Bamboo then pursued a solo career and released his first solo album, No Water, No Moon.
